- Plan and route refrigerated loads efficiently to ensure timely deliveries to customer distribution centers.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all DOT regulations to maintain safety standards across all operations.
- Review driver payroll weekly, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Coach and discipline employees as necessary, fostering a positive and compliant work environment.
- Conduct interviews and participate in the hiring process for new drivers, ensuring high standards of recruitment.
- Coordinate backhaul operations to optimize fleet utilization and reduce empty miles.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth operation of the transportation department.
- Regularly assess operational procedures and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years proven experience in load planning and transportation management, preferably with refrigerated products.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in driver management, including coaching, disciplining, and interviewing.
- Proficient in using transportation management systems and software.
