WP Rawl is Hiring a Driver Manager Near Pelion, SC

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Manager to oversee the routing and transportation of refrigerated loads of produce from our facilities to customer distribution centers in the Mid-West region. The successful candidate will be responsible for load planning, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, and maximizing fleet utilization through effective backhaul coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and route refrigerated loads efficiently to ensure timely deliveries to customer distribution centers.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all DOT regulations to maintain safety standards across all operations.
  • Review driver payroll weekly, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coach and discipline employees as necessary, fostering a positive and compliant work environment.
  • Conduct interviews and participate in the hiring process for new drivers, ensuring high standards of recruitment.
  • Coordinate backhaul operations to optimize fleet utilization and reduce empty miles.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth operation of the transportation department.
  • Regularly assess operational procedures and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years proven experience in load planning and transportation management, preferably with refrigerated products.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in driver management, including coaching, disciplining, and interviewing.
  • Proficient in using transportation management systems and software.
